It is really important to warm up before starting your practice. Have a quick shake all over to loosen your muscles, take some deep breaths.
Then play -
- long notes, short notes
- high notes, low notes
- loud and quet, changing gradually or suddenly
- scales and any other exercises I may have given you (slurring up and down octaves, for example)
Don’t just plough in and play through pieces -
- look through and think how it went last time
- go over the tricky parts many times
