Warming Up

It is really important to warm up before starting your practice. Have a quick shake all over to loosen your muscles, take some deep breaths.

Then play –
– long notes, short notes
– high notes, low notes
– loud and quet, changing gradually or suddenly
– scales and any other exercises I may have given you (slurring up and down octaves, for example)

Don’t just plough in and play through pieces –
– look through and think how it went last time
– go over the tricky parts many times
