Presentations

These are the Powerpoint presentations I use in class music lessons.  They are partly visual aids for the children, partly a way of keeping all the resources I need in one place (such as sound files), and partly a teaching prompt for me.

They will give an idea of the sort of activities we have been doing, and will be doing.  The sound files will not work here – although they do in the lessons!  Don’t take too much notice of the lesson numbers, sometimes we spend a few weeks on one of the activities until we’re confident, sometimes we go through two in the space of one lesson.  Talk to your children about what we’ve been doing, and about the musical vocabulary we use.

I’d love to know if you find this useful!

Year B Autumn Year 5 and 6 Songwriter

Autumn Term 2011 Music Topic for Years 5 and 6.  Songwriter covers information about how songs are written – about lyrics, about mood and social context, about styles such as blues, about the 12 bar blues structure, etc. We learn about chords and blues scales and we improvise with both.
